This unit lasted approximately seven days.
Day 1: View first video (approximately 1 hour) on Evita Perón's
life, follow-up worksheet to assess comprehension.
Day 2: View second video (approximately 1 hour) on Evita Perón's
life, follow-up worksheet to assess comprehension.
Day 3: Read from the script of the musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd
Webber and Tim Rice in Spanish. Listen to an audio-cassette tape of this version of the
musical and view scenes from the movie by Madonna with the sound turned off.
Day 4: Go to computer lab to do the Fact vs. Fiction WebQuest. Begin
Evita Perón: Mistress to Madonna WebQuest.
Day 5: Go to computer lab to continue Evita Perón: Mistress to
Madonna WebQuest. Work in small groups to determine decision, write rough draft of press
release and begin work on video release.
Day 6: Present individual group decisions to remainder of class and
participate in discussion to determine class decision. Continue work on video release.
Day 7: Present video releases and hand in final version of press
releases.
*Note: My classes are 85 minutes long and meet on an alternate day
schedule.
